Welded Steel Pipes
Welded steel pipe is a steel pipe with seams on the surface that is bent and deformed into a round or square shape by steel strips or plates and then welded. Welded steel pipe is less costly and more efficient than seamless steel pipe, and the billet used is steel plate or strip steel. Welded steel pipe is highly resistant to corrosion in acidic environments.
Welding method classification: according to different welding methods can be divided into electric arc welded pipe, high-frequency or low-frequency resistance welded pipe, gas welded pipe, furnace welded pipe, Bundy pipe, etc.
Electric welded steel pipe: used in oil drilling and machinery manufacturing, etc.
Furnace welded pipe: can be used as water and gas pipe, etc. Large diameter straight seam welded pipe is used for high pressure oil and gas transmission, etc.; spiral welded pipe is used for oil and gas transmission, pipe piles, bridge piers, etc.
Classification by weld seam shape: can be divided into straight seam welded pipe and spiral welded pipe
Straight seam welded pipe : Simple production process, high production efficiency, low cost, and faster development.
Spiral type : The strength is generally higher than that of straight seam welded pipe, and it can produce welded pipe with a larger diameter from a narrower billet, and it can also produce welded pipe with a different diameter from a billet of the same width. However, compared with the same length of straight seam pipe, the weld length increases by 30~100% and the production speed is lower. Therefore, most of the smaller diameter welded pipes are straight seam welded, and most of the large diameter welded pipes are spiral welded.
Spiral welded steel pipe is divided into two kinds of automatic submerged arc welded steel pipe and high-frequency welded steel pipe.
